VOICE

What’s included

Weekly Lessons

Whether you are in-person or virtual, our hour-long lessons offer you the opportunity to build on your natural ability with a healthy-classical technique. Our curriculum allows the singer to learn vocal anatomy/health, theory, and techniques that support all styles of singing.

Our instruction is based upon the bel canto method of singing with exercises from the school of Manuel Garcia and Mathilde Marchesi.

In classes we will focus on the entire body as the supportive mechanism for your healthy and natural sound.

Follow Up

All lessons are video recorded and you’ll be assigned homework weekly to help you track your progress. Throughout the week, students in both the Discovery and Performance Tracks are able to log into office hours for extra help at no cost. There you’ll be paired with another student or a coach to review and hone your work. This will also be an opportunity to grow in your collaboration and feedback skills.

Evaluations & Opportunities

Performance Track students at the end of each calendar year are given a BMA vocal assessment to ensure you are on the path to achieving your goals. After the assessment is completed, a video session will be scheduled with your instructor to relay your end of course evaluation. They will provide you a retro on your strengths, weaknesses and areas to improve.

All BMA students are welcomed to participate in the twice-yearly live and virtual recitals (Spring/Winter). Additionally all students are supported to participate in monthly workshops, group cohorts, performance outreach, and competitions.
